Stuff about art
Journal Entry: Tue Jul 1, 2008, 2:28 PM
I have a lot of friends/people I respect who are artists in various mediums, and I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you all and are inspired by you. It really makes me happy to see all the things that people are doing with their art, even though I know they're probably spending as much time as I am thinking "ughhhh....block...what now?" It's just that I have nothing to show for it. These drawings on here are like three years old, and I've been drawing and writing and stuff during that time period, but...I don't finish stuff like I used to. I've kind of taken a journalistic approach with my art, which makes my sketchbooks really fun to read/look through but make them difficult to single out for scanning and posting. I'm in a place right now where my creativity is just dead, and though I know it'll come back soon, I feel rather unmotivated to do anything. The fact that I'm so moved by my friends' work is proof that I haven't died entirely, and someday I'm hoping to do something that will motivate you all when you are in a rough spot, artistically speaking. It's true that you become what you surround yourself with, and I surround myself with wonderful people who have something awesome to share with the world. Just a note saying you all inspire me, and I am soon hoping to update. I was thinking about starting an autobiographical comic, but as that takes so much time it's easier said than done. (But, I mean, come on. I don't have a job or school right now, so what the hell else am I doing?) Anyway: look for stuff in the future, and thanks for inspiring me!

Or I'll have to see it in real life! And that takes effort on my part.
